Janus Daði started his career with Selfoss, a team in his hometown close to Reykjavik. His international career started early but in 2012, at the age of 17, he joined Aarhus handball team in Denmark.
Since then he has played with various clubs such as Haukar, Aalborg, Frisch Auf Göppingen, Kolastad handball club and at the moment Magdeburg.
Janus Daði just signed with the Hungarian team Pick Szeged and will join them in the summer for the next three years, when his contract with Magdeburg finishes.
Janus Daði began his handball journey at a young age, joining the team in his hometown, Selfoss. He recalls starting in January after being inspired by a major tournament he watched on TV.
When questioned about any pre-game rituals, Janus Daði doesn't admit to having any.
Selfoss holds a special place in Janus's heart as his favorite location in Iceland, being his hometown. However, in Germany, he expresses fondness for Göppingen, where Janus played from 2020 to 2022.
Players often have various role models and favorite athletes. When asked about his favorite player, Janus names the Icelandic player Ólafur Stefánsson, who also happens to be the father of his current teammate, Einar Þorsteinn.
Janus stands out as one of the few players on the team who openly shares a hidden talent. "I can say yes multiple times ridiculously fast."
