Einar Þorsteinn Ólafsson, born 30 Sept 2001, is an Icelandic handball player who started his career with Valur, Iceland. He now plays for Fredericia and the Icelandic national team.

Einar Þorsteinn Ólafsson began his handball career with Valur Iceland. Despite his young age, he was selected to join the national team in 2021, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to train and play alongside more experienced players.
No stranger to the responsibilities that come with playing for Iceland, Einar follows in the footsteps of his father, Ólaf Stefánsson, who had a distinguished career representing Iceland over many years.
In 2022, Einar secured a two-year contract with the Danish club Fredericia.
Einar started playing handball at a young age, and when asked about the reason behind his choice of the sport, the answer comes as no surprise. "Well, you could say sports run in the family." For those unfamiliar, his father, Ólafur Stefánsson, is one of Iceland's most beloved handball players, and interestingly, Einar was born in Magdeburg, where his father played professionally for five years.
When questioned about any pre-game rituals, Einar claims he currently has none, stating, "Not at the moment, but I think they will develop as I get older. That's my theory."
Álftanes holds the title of Einar's favorite place in Iceland, a small town on the outskirts of Reykjavík. As for his favorite place in Germany, he mentions Heidelberg.
Players often have different role models and favorite athletes. When asked about his favorite players, Einar names Talant Dujshebaev, a former handball player and the current head coach at Vive Kielce.
Einar stands out as one of the few players on the team who openly shares a hidden talent. "I know an awful lot about the NBA."
