Trying to get rid of all rituals before games

Sigvaldi is the only player with the national team who has never played for an Icelandic team in the Premier League. We are curious to know why he started playing handball.

"I started playing handball because of my friends; they were all with HK, and I wanted to join them."

Do you have any superstitions or rituals before games?

"I try to have none or keep them to a minimum. When I was younger, I had a few, but I feel like they disturb me more than help. So, it's over."

Do you have any favorite places in Iceland?

"Yes, it would be Tálknafjörður in the west of Iceland."

What about Germany? Any favorite place?

"Yes, I would say Cologne."

When asked about his all-time favorite handball player, he mentions "Óli Stef," the Icelandic handball player who played 330 games with the national team.
